on Feb 29, 2012
Facebook is holding it’s first ever “fMC” today – that’s Facebook Marketing Conference, and it’s announcing widely expected new ad formats. From the release just sent to me: Today, Facebook announced a new design for Pages, giving brands and businesses more ways to tell their story. The redesigned Pages are more personalized and complementary to the look and feel of individual profiles. Now, when you visit a Page, you can see your friends’ interactions with that Page as
The AdSense Profits Course is Open – 4 Days Only to Join
on Feb 21, 2012
Today I am opening the registrations for the AdSense Profits Course again. The doors will stay open for 4 days only (i.e., until this Friday, midnight GMT), so if you were planning to join make sure to check it out today. When I created the course last year I was not sure if I would re-launch it or not, but the feedback I got was so positive that I decided to run it at least one more time (so yeah there’s a chance I won’t be opening it again). Most people who joined the course saw a significantGoogle+: Now Serving 90 Million. But…Where’s the Engagement Data!

Google didn’t have a great earnings call today – the company missed Wall St. estimates and the stock is getting hammered in after hours trading - it’s down 9 percent, which is serious whiplash for a major stock in one day.Google’s Introduces New “Search Plus Your World”
on Jan 10, 2012
If you have been wondering when the latest update to Google’s search offering would be then today is your day. Google’s “Search Plus Your World” (notice the clever use of plus in the title wink, wink, nod, nod) is starting to be rolled out today to English language searchers who are logged into Google.com. As we like to do here at Marketing Pilgrim, we’ll give you the video intro from Google just to whet your appetite regarding this rather significant addition to the GoogleSearch, Plus Your World, As Long As It’s Our World

Perusing my feeds today, I saw this post from Google’s blog: Search, plus Your World In the post, Google extols the virtues of incorporating results such as “your personal content or things shared with you by people you care about. These wonderful people and this rich personal content is currently missing from your search experience. Search is still limited to a universe of webpages created publicly, mostly by people you’ve never met. Today, we’re changing that by bringing your world, rich withMarketing and Measurement: Still Not So Perfect Together
on Dec 16, 2011
Marketing executives and those that they badger for information still today often walk away frustrated from the problem of accurate and actionable measurement of campaigns of all sorts. Marketers used to be able to hide behind vague metrics like eyeballs and overall demographics of whatever medium they were using. The imperfections of the measurements were accepted and everyone just went along their merry way because you have to advertise to do business, right? on Dec 5, 2011
I have already posted about this trend today in the industry’s coverage of a relative non-event even if it actually happens, which is the buying or maybe, kinda, sorta buying of Gowalla by Facebook. So being in the mood I was already in came across this bit of “news” from Business Insider’s founder Henry Blodget and just had to ask what are we doing? Here is a picture of the headline from yesterday and the amount of sharing that occurred around it. (Don’t be scared by the techAs Marketers, Should We Care About A Facebook IPO?

Lots of the news today is focused on the impending IPO for Facebook in the spring. It’s talk that has been flying around for quite some time but this time it looks like it could actually happen. According to the Wall Street JournalCup of Joe: Today is Thanksgiving! And So Is Tomorrow!
on Nov 26, 2011
Yay! Today is Thanksgiving! FEED ME TURKEY! Ok so I know what you are thinking, Um Joe, Thanksgiving was two days ago! But, you are wrong, and in this post I am going to prove it to you. Your thanksgiving may have been two days ago, but mine is today. You see, in my family we all have different places to go on Thanksgiving which means that usually we end up celebrating together on the Saturday after. I know it sounds crazy, but if you have ever met any of my family, you would see that crazy works for us!Recent Posts
