My name is Cynthia and I’m a couponer. I began redeeming coupons found in the Sunday paper, but soon graduated to buying multiple papers in order to increase my savings. Then I discovered printables – online coupons that I could download right from my computer, and digital coupons that applied directly to my store card!

When you offer a coupon for a product, you know you’re helping consumers save money. But did you know you’re also giving them a thrill? A new survey by CouponCabin.com shows that 49% of US Adults felt a thrill or a rush when using a coupon. The survey doesn’t elaborate on why but from personal experience I can say that watching the numbers drop on the cash register is akin to seeing coins drop out of a slot machine. Kaching, kaching — that’s found money.

Couponers are often viewed as cheapskates who ration toilet paper squares and dumpster dive for savings. But the reality is, couponers actually spend more money than the average web shopper and WhaleShark Media has the numbers to back it up. According to a recently published survey, conducted by Forrester Research, active couponers (those who redeemed more than 6 coupons in the past 12 months) spent more than $800 per year online than light users.
