on Feb 10, 2012
Thinking Out Loud About Voice Search: What’s the Business Model?(image) I don’t have Siri yet – I’m still using my “old” iPhone 4. But I do have my hands on a new (unboxed) Nexus, which has Google Voice Actions on it, and I’m sure at some point I’ll get a iPhone 4GS. So this post isn’t written from experience as much as it’s pure speculation, or as I like to call it, Thinking Out Loud.

It’s Not Whether Google’s Threatened. It’s Asking Ourselves: What Commons Do We Wish For?

If Facebook’s IPO filing does anything besides mint a lot of millionaires, it will be to shine a rather unsettling light on a fact most of us would rather not acknowledge: The web as we know it is rather like our polar ice caps: under severe, long-term attack by forces of our own creation.

15 Things I Wish I Knew When I Started BloggingI built my first blog back in 2005, and today a large part of my online income is generated from my blogs. Over these years I made many mistakes and figured some things out. Below you’ll find 15 of them. When I started blogging I didn’t pay much attention to the domains of my blogs. As a result I ended up with some long and boring domains (e.g., FutureTechWeb.com, which was my first tech blog). This is a big mistake because the domain is one of the few factors you won’t be able to change.

Cashing In On Media Buys Without Re-bill Offers

A huge myth has become apparent in the last several months with re-bill offers becoming few and far between.  For whatever reason some affiliates think that because a lot of re-bill offers have been pulled (due to a massive amount of complaints as well as merchant problems) that you can no longer make good money media buying.  This couldn’t be further from the truth.
