Dot Com Pho – The Opposite Edition

on Jun 27, 2010

We had a bigger than full house today at Dot Com Pho. Our normal Saturday reserved table can seat ten people but we had a total of 13 showed up for our Opposite Edition. We all had to squeeze a little tighter to get everyone to sit around the table. We all thought that Ed Lau would be last but he was actually fourth from last. That’s a new first.

Vancouver’s First Cupcake Challenge

on Jun 22, 2010

What better way to celebrate Father’s Day than eating cupcakes? I’m sure that’s what Mijune Pak and Nicole Marie were thinking when they organized Vancouver’s first cupcake challenge. The object was simple. Invites the best cupcake makers in the city and pit them head to head against each other to see who’s the best.

Dot Com Pho – Switch On Edition

on Jun 20, 2010

A full house of 10 people showed up for today’s action packed Dot Com Pho, which started at 12:30 and didn’t end until almost 4:00PM. It’s a good thing that Mr. Happy Pho is a really happy guy and likes us a lot. Otherwise, I doubt he would tolerate us staying at his restaurant for over three hours. Most of the attendees were Pho regulars but we did have one new member.

Internet Marketing Conference = Lame Ass Award

on Jun 17, 2010

I heard from Tech Vibes that the Internet Marketing Conference (IMC) was coming to Vancouver so I made a proposal to speak at it. Everything looked fine at first. The keynote was being delivered by Guy Kawasaki. I figured, great! I get to connect with Guy again and make fun of his Hawaiian shirts.

Dot Com Pho – World Cup Fever Edition

on Jun 13, 2010

World Cup fever has hit Dot Com Pho! Well, it hit us for about 20 seconds anyway. The rest of the Dot Com Pho video was spent talking about much more important stuff, like finding a sponsor for Stephen’s baby’s name. If your company is willing to put up a minimum of $5,000, Stephen will name his about to be born baby after you.

The 8-Bit Whale At The Vancouver Convention Centre

on Jun 12, 2010

I thought that big blue ink drop at the Vancouver Convention Centre was strange (it was removed during the Olympics) but they’ve managed to top themselves by putting up what appears to the an 8-bit version of a pacific killer whale at the west side on the convention center, near the Olympics cauldron. Sally and I went to check it out.

Make a Wish Foundation 24 hr Online Fundraiser

on Jun 11, 2010

Two nights ago, I was a Vancouver Tweetup to network with local Twitter users. There I met Anthony Caridi of KasuFunding.com. Anthony had a great vision. His goal was to run an online social media campaign to raise funding for the Make a Wish Foundation.

Dot Com Pho – Entrepreneur Zombies Edition

on Jun 6, 2010

After taking a break from Pho last week because of Freelance Camp, the crew headed back to Happy Pho for another fun filled and action packed Dot Com Pho. The Dot Com crew in this case was made up of only five members since Stephen Fung and Michael Kwan are in Taipei for Computex. Making it for this week’s episode were myself, Josh Rimer, Pete Quily, Ed Lau and Wolfgang Christl.
